ban all alcohol. ban all tobacco. ban all sugar. overnight a huge improvement in health.
Dear Everyone,
You know, before there were HMO's and Networks, there were doctors. They charged $15-$25 per office visit, and an extra $10 for house calls after regular office hours. A hospital bed was around $100 a day, and operations were around $1000 maximum. And, then business took over the hospitals and clinics to "make them run more efficiently", and doctor administrators were replaced with MBA's that knew nothing of compassion or efficiency--but, only knew of greed, and how to be stupid businessmen (can you believe people go to college to study business--instead of science, engineering and medicine--Thank god there's a Hades). So, now we have stupid businessmen stealing all the extra money that never should have been spent, and smart doctors working ever harder for less money. I guess we got what we wished for.
Something to think about, Cherubim
Nothing in Obamacare addresses the core issue of why health care costs are rising. As a governmental policy we long ago answered the question "what level of healthcare are we entitled to" with the answer "the best, regardless of cost". Doctors, health care providers, insurance companies, patients - no one today really has the ability to choose any treatment other than the best and most expensive. The good side has been dramatic improvements over the last 40 years. The bad side has been dramatic increases in cost, that will eventually bankrupt us if we stay with that answer. American consumers fund the healthcare research that provides better treatment for people all over the world, but we can't afford it anymore.
Personally I would like to see it made illegal for a business to provide healthcare in the payroll. Then I'd like to see all limits pulled off on what kinds of health care packages can be sold. Then let the free market work, as individuals pick and choose what to buy, including options that will not pay for the best and more expensive treatments. That won't happen, though. Sadly the only way out is probably a plan like Canada where some bureaucrat will be the one to decide that we can't have the best and most expensive anymore. SOMEONE needs to have that power, though.
THIS WAS A GOOD START. WE ALL NEED GOOD HEALTH CARE. THESE PEOPLE THAT CALL IT NAMES ARE JUST STUPID. THERE ARE LOTS OF THINGS THE GOVERNMENT HAS TO HELP WITH. ROADS, SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS, FIRE AND POLICE DEPTS. AND HEALTH CARE. WE NEED A ONE PAYER SYSTEM THAT WE THE PEOPLE CAN USE ACROSS STATE LINES THAT IS GOOD ANYWHERE WE ARE, EVEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY.
A MEDICAL PROGRAM WHERE EVERYONE PAYS AND EVERYONE GETS GOOD HEALTH CARE. THE OTHER THING THAT I HAVE HEARD STUPID PEOPLE SAY, "I NOT PAYING FOR SOMEONE ELISE" WHO IS PAYING NOW FOR THE FREE LOADERS GOING TO THE E.R. ??
If you want govt. health care move to Cuba.
Bring the free market back to health care I live in Taxachussetts and the mandate isnt working here. The price of healthcare has gone parabolic and the small buissnesses cant get out of the state fast enough.
With as cost of 17% of GDP the US needs a national health care system (NHCS). In the last 20 years Switzerland and Taiwan have chosen to institute NHCSs. Taiwan's cost 7% and Switzerland's 11% and the rest of our European competitors and Japan near 8% of GDP. Switz uses a constitutional mandate to require all citizens to have health care insurance and has over 200 insurers; other countries have singe payer insurance. Some how we must control health insurance costs, within the next 10 years. A split S. Court decision will be interesting.
From cradle to grave! inch by inch, step by step. Slowly the Gov't will have 100% control over everyone and then we will get a monster like a Hitler or a Stalin. Here is a famous quote from one of our founding fathers TJ "Was the government to prescribe to us our medicine and diet, our bodies would be in such keeping as our souls are now."
I took profits on Monday, got the bounce and went short again at SPY 133.40 using TZA calls to get more bang for the buck, and since the IWM/SPY ratio whipsawed back below its 50 day MA per Robert Colby from TraderPlanet today. I don't want to see the SPY over 133.71, the 6/22 high. Good luck
My SPY Put's were stopped out for a nice return and I think one more little push up on the market and at the 62% Fib I am going short again. My FB stop was hit and man what a run up it has been. The market is posioned for a big move down and if not I will take a small loss. I am prepared!
I thought we got to the Fib level today at 133.16 (from the last high to the last low)
Sorry, JP, that should be 134.16, just wishful thinking about it not going above 133.71.
It's interesting that the Obam Admiistration cites precednt undr the Commerce Clause of the Constitution as the reason tat the PPACA should be uptheld, yet the Obama Aministration violated 200 years of precedent and te rle of law when it took over General Motorsr to the detriment of bondholders and shareholders and the benefit of the Unions.
Further, if the Government can force individuals to buy health insurance, in the future, it can force individuls to buy anything. it was not the intent of the Constitution to give such broad power to the government!!.
we need a one payer system, but not one mandated by the Federal Government as I believe it will be unconstitutional unless the Court decides medical care as a system is not one that falls in the category of 'commerce', i.e. is somehow a special entity that does not engage in actual interstate commerce therefore immune from considerations that would not interfere with its regulation. Since the medical care system is a monopolistic entity with price fixing via medical insurance, there is a case to be made for that.
DENNIS; SORRY FOR THE LARGE PRINT, BEING OL'BOY 70 IS THE REASON I AM FOR GOOD MEDICAL CARE AND IT SHOULD BE "COMMERCE" AS IT IS, I GO OUT OF MY STATE AND I AM "OUT OF NETWORK" AND I HAVE TO PAY MORE. KEEP THINKING AND HOPE WE ALL GET A GOOD MEDICAL CARE SYSTEM. OBAMA HAS MADE A GOOD START, BUT IT CAN BE BETTER.
It is an issue that is befuddling, all I know is that medical care costs are about 75% above where they ought to be. Perhaps that is just relative to the prices of goods and services that may have prevailed if the banks had not been rescued from their toxic assets which they are still carrying on their books.
Justice Kennedy is a media hound who loves to have his ego stroked by fawning journalists such as what Time magazine did for him recently by putting him on the cover with the tag line "The Decider". I suspect he will vote against the mandate but won't be able to resist tinkering with the rest to ensure his "wildcard" status. He is little more than anarchist and appears to enjoy it.
The supreme court should reject Obamacare. It is completely unconstitutional. The courts record so far is not good so anything can happen. The immigration ruling was a complete disaster and they have made the USA extremely vulnerable economically and in safety. This is very common for Democrat leadership and really does not surprise me. If I was to want to bring down the greatest country in the history of the world and I was of a socialist or communist ideology I would do exactly what the socialist and communist who have taken over the Democrat party are doing. Inch by Inch they will get there. They are the best at what they do. A terrible price will be paid one day because the free market has a way of punishing this kind of policy and ideology. Taking 7% of the free market from private to public is a huge chunk of revenue out of the Gov’t who will put the cost onto the citizens. This will cost way more the welfare ever did. America is still a great country and it will take a lot more to bring her down so we shall see what we shall see. Let not your hearts be troubled. At least my trade on FB is doing great! My trade on CAT Put's is doing awesome. 🙂
