Now that the Presidential Debates are over who do you think won overall? We're any of your concerns heading into the debates answered? Do feel better about the decision that's ahead of you? Did the outcome of the debates change who you are voting for?
The poll is a basic overall pick a winner, but we would love to hear your thoughts on the debates and the forth coming election.
As always, please leave a comment below with your thoughts.
Every Success,
Jeremy
Only thing you got to know in the current election cycle is … rMoney is a wolf in sheep’s clothing….
Anyone who intends to vote should make a concerted effort to learn as much as possible about both candidates. Even though some are saying it won't make any difference should take a look at the over 900 executive orders President Obama has signed. Study Gov Romney's record as well. Study the past four years and determine in your mind if you want more of the same.
You can listen to Bob or read some facts.
"Only In America"
1) Only in America, could politicians talk about the greed of the rich at a
$35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.
2) Only in America, could people claim that the government still discriminates
against black Americans when they have a black President, a black Attorney
General, and roughly 18% of the federal workforce is black while only 12% of the
population is black.
3) Only in America, could they have had the two people most responsible for the
tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury Department and Charles
Rangel, who once ran the Ways and Means Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax
cheats who are in favor of higher taxes.
4) Only in America, can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah
and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by
the backlash.
5) Only in America, would they make people who want to legally become American
citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of
dollars for the privilege while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the
country illegally just 'magically' become American citizens.
6) Only in America, could the people who believe in balancing the budget and
sticking by the country's Constitution be thought of as "extremists."
7) Only in America, could you need to present a driver's license or other
official form of ID, to cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.
8) Only in America, could people demand the government investigate whether oil
companies are gouging the public because the price of gas went up when the
return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company (Marathon Oil) is less
than half of a company making tennis shoes (Nike).
9) Only in America, could the government collect more tax dollars from the
people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more
than it has per year - for total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE, and complain
that it doesn't have nearly enough money.
10) Only in America, could the rich people - who pay 86% of all income taxes -
be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income
taxes at all.
Does this sound like the kind of America you want?
Around here, Obama has already been re-elected, and we’re comfortable with that.
Obama won the debates. All of them. Yes even the first one. His “performance” may have been excessively “coma-like” but there was Romney proposing a completely nonsensical budget. Now tell me how you can propose something that is completely nonsensical, and be declared the “winner.”So I’m going to jump ahead one more step and write a brief Romney concession speech.
“My fellow, Americans, it has been a hard-fought campaign, but the people have spoken, and we shall go forward together as one nation under our re-elected president. I guess some of the things I said about him aren’t really true, like how ALL his policies were wrong, including the ones I agreed with. And yes I eagerly climbed atop a party that has tried for four years to de-legitimize a sitting president with a collection of tactics and fabrications and I was only to happy to ride it. Suffice it to say that my position now has changed, again, to ‘never mind’. Let’s support the president, NOW. Yes I helped to widen the terrible political chasm that has opened in this country. Damage done. But I’m not going to say I’m sorry, because that would be an apology tour.”
I know the liberals can only call Bush a liar, but they need to open their eyes to the fact that Obama is a liar as well:
NEWS TODAY: OBAMA CAUGHT IN HUGE LIE
CBS News, hardly a right-wing news outlet provided hard copies of the emails the State Department was sent as the attack was unfolding. Ambassador Stevens also sent emails the day he died that he was concerned about their security.
They provided copies of the emails to the public in their news reports today. Here are excerpts:
Sent Tues Sept 11 at 4:05 pm
Subject: U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack
The Regional Security Officer reports the diplomatic mission is under attack. Embassy Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi and four COM personnel are in the compound safe haven. The 17th of February militia is providing security support.
Sent: Tuesday September 11 2012 6:07 pm
Subject: Update 2 Ansar al sharia claims responsibility for Benghazi Attack
Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli
More emails are being released tonight.
You got to be ashamed for politicizing the issue... instead of finding solutions to strengthen the security abroad for diplomatic personnel
you are looking for ways to tear down a successful President in an ever changing world. GOP, which is part of the problem, will soon become irrelevant if it keeps up this approach.
Interesting reading the comments and looking at the voting results. It appears that gold investors/traders are heavily weighted toward a Romney win in the last debate which is contrary to what popular opinion showed was a decisive win for Obama. Gold bugs tend to hold strong beliefs about gold prices just as they show strong political beliefs in this post. While I share many of the beliefs of gold bugs about precious metals and monetary dillution of fiat currencies, I must say it is scary to see so many gold investors who appear to be fooling themselves about the outcome of the debate. I hope y'all aren't fooling yourselves about the direction of gold. I'm primarily a technical trader and try to remove emotion as best I can. I like the fundamental, technical, and sentiment story for golds bull run, but y'all are making me doubt your judgement with this debate nonsense. Based on the polls it wass an 8-30 pt win for Obama. Based on your votes it was a 20 pt win for Romney. Just sayin'
Do you know who was polled in the 8-30 pt win for Obama? Hmmmm
The biggest single thing that I hold against Obama is that after the greatest robbery in the history of mankind, the '08 Wall Street crash, nobody went to jail except a couple of ponzi guys. Clinton, after the S & L scandal in '90 arrested 1400 of the crooked bankers and 300 of them actually saw jail. Clinton was not perfect but he came through in the important things.
Remember OB's zinger last night regarding Gov Romney's concern about the depleted state and shrinking American military might. You may want to read the following article. Who is the ignorant one in this case? Find out.
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/in-defense-of-bayonets-horses-5-problems-with-the-presidents-zinger-last-night/
pinhead... President Obama said that they were fewer horses and bayonets now compared to 1916. He
DID NOT say that we do not have them in the current military. Go and check the transcripts. FOX and the
right wingers making a big deal out of this... They make mountains out of mole heads... remember
WMD and Iraq...
Hi Bob, Why do liberals call people names when they are addressing them?
All that was meant was that Obama was being extremely arrogant and very demeaning when he didn't need to be. Oh yeah, did you read the part about the fact that the Navy no longer uses battleships. Obama didn't know that.
Did you think Obama's response was presidential? I personally did not. That's all.
Remember Libya, death of 4 Americans, and the lies coming from the WH and its administration. Does it only matter to you when the Republicans lie?
What about 4000 Americans died in Iraq based on BIG LIE on WMDs..
Neither scenario was good for our country, and I didn't want one boot on the ground in the middle east. It has been, in my opinion, a great waste of our young patriotic warriors. Gov Romney is not George Bush and if you listened to the last debate, you heard Gov Romney agree with Obama about any more wars, boots on the ground.
A strong economy and a strong military is what will bring peace and respect for our country.
Pinhead huh, you must listen to O'Reilly!
I did and it's not very good.
Honestly, trying to prove that use of horses and bayonets is on the rise as a counter to Obama's example used to highlight that concentration on numbers instead of capabilities is simplistic, is itself disingenuous.
The fact is the US army does not have divisions of horse calvary and heavy artillary, these days, is mainly self propelled or has been augmented by air based capabilities.
Obama's statement was intended to highlight that it's not about numbers but capabilities and older forms of military ordinance are out dated by technological advancements that can concentrate more firepower in fewer devices.
For example, the US has more unmanned drones than it ever had and way fewer Balloon corps.
Making comparisons with war time levels of equipment in suggestion that the same should be maintained during periods of peace is not only unnecessary but extremely wasteful. The notion that defence spending is akin to foriegn policy and that only a rising ceiling is tolerable is simply misguided.
The purpose of the armed services is not just to employ servicemen or provide promotional opportunities for career military. It's not a great big make jobs scheme (although it is the worlds largest employer).
It should serve a purpose and be tailored to modern requirements and anticipated use.
Hi Catweasel, Very well thought out response. Posted because I really didn't appreciate the very offensive, non-presidential response by Obama. I believe there should be more respect shown in the presidential debates and not grade school type remarks.
Appreciated your thoughts.
By the way, if sequestration becomes law, our military will suffer large consequences, and we will not be as safe as we are now. Most important of all the other bull.
I see that liberals are sore and angry losers.
Get used to it, then get over it.
You had your chance.
Bye, bye.
I have news for you... a Republican WILL NOT see the inside of the Oval office for the next 20 years ...
I have news for you... a republican WILL NOT see the inside of the Oval office for next 20 years...
How do you know?
You will get your answer on Nov 7, 2012... and 20 year countdown starts..
Sue, you could be very right about Nov 2012. I just read that the O man brought Ohio's ruling to give our U.S. troops time to vote to the attention of the Supreme Court. They have over turned Ohio's ruling. So now our troops in war zones won't even be given the extra time they need to vote. Their ballots were sent out late.
I totally agree with you, Bob. You might also add "uninformed and intellectually challenged." Just imagine predicting the next 20 years.
You have been watching too much of “unfair and Unbalanced” news
from FIXED channel of neocon teaparty mentally challenged..
You have been watching too much of “unfair and Unbalanced” news
from FIXED channel of neocon teaparty of mentally challenged..
You haven't been watching enough fair and balanced news. Try expanding your mind.
It is impossible to look at the G.O.P.’s behavior in the last four years — from its unwillingness to consider Obama’s jobs bill, which was praised by independent economists, to the unwillingness of its presidential candidates to consider a $1 increase in taxes for $10 of spending cuts, to the time it spent on sheer lunacy such as questioning the president’s birth certificate — and not conclude that many in the party just wanted Obama to fail in the hope that they could pick up the pieces. Too many Republicans, particularly moderate business types, don’t want to admit how much their party has been led around of late, not by traditional conservatives, but by a radical Tea Party base that has driven decent, smart conservatives — like Bob Bennett of Utah, Bob Inglis of South Carolina, Richard Lugar of Indiana and Olympia Snowe of Maine — out of office.
It is impossible to look at the last 4 years and vote for more of it, Bob. You have totally dismissed the fact that the first two years that Obama was in office he had a democratic majority in the House and the Senate. He had all that time to get his job's bill passed but instead chose to socialize our health care which the majority of the American people did not favor.
I have a possible poll question for you:
If Romney wins the election, which version of him do you think will show up in the Whitehouse?
a. The Moderate from Massachusetts
b. The hard-right candidate from the Primaries
c. The RINO from the debates
Rest assured that Mrs.Anne rMoney gave up measuring the drape sizes for White House windows after her
honeybun's performance in the debate !!!
So your question becomes moot...
Bob, do you know how much of the tax payers money our first lady michelle spent on her last little jaunt? And you may want to check out what it was for and how she was dressed?
I am not worried about what the Romneys do with their money but I am angry as H about what Obama has been doing with our money!
Your question shows a lack of maturity, intellect, and the seriousness of this election.
You have been watching too much of "unfair and Unbalanced" news
from FIXED channel of neocon teaparty retards..
Dear Bob, I know you must be a dyed in the wool liberal because you all preach political correctness but do not practice it. Please do not use "retards." That is very politically incorrect. By the way, you are wrong.
Bob, did you check out our first lady's last trip and why haven't you responded to that in defense of her?
Hey Bob, an attack is not a plan.
I thought it was a fun poll question. I honestly have no idea what Romney would do, if elected...
rMoney is a wolf in a sheep clothing...
Bruce, I guess I am so very concerned about the condition of our country that I didn't get your joke. I apologize.
Have a great day.
The only people that think Obama won any of the debates are the ignorant and the dishonest. If you check the facts, Obama lied about just about everything in every debate. Even many Obama supporters state that Romney won the last debate on economics and lost on foreign affairs. The reason they think he won on foreign affairs is that Obama knows how to lie very well and with a straight face. Donald Rumsfeld went on Fox News this morning and stated that Obama was completely wrong about every part of the debate on foreign affairs, and gave details explaining why. Rumsfeld also said Obama lied about wanting to leave troops in Iraq. The irritating thing is that most of the media, which are owned and run by the biggest corporations in the world, don't even use facts to evaluate who won the debates. It's body language, temperment, the altitude and anything but whether or not the candidates are telling the truth. One of Obamas biggest arguments against Romney is that he is for the big corporations. Obama has given hundreds of billions of dollars to many of the big corporations, especially those who gave large campaign contributions to him. No wonder the left wing media, which is owned by the biggest corporations, refuses to expose Obama for the fraud that he is. The left were like rocket scientists when it came to criticising George Bush, but they can't add 2+2 when it comes to Obama. The best job for Obama in my opinion would be a used car salesman, where he could do the least damage taking advantage of people for his own benefit.
Lying .. lying big time is Republican specialty... go and ask 4000 American families for their dead and several thousand
innocent Iraqi families for their dead for a war which was based on BIG TIME LIES....... WMD.... go and look
yourself in the mirror and answer the question...
The modern GOP is the weirdest combination of fiscal nonsense favoring the rich and corporate power, along with truly extreme social ideas including outright racism and misogyny.
One wonders how on earth this election is even close?
Fiscal nonsense? who has gotten us into debt of over $16T? He added $6T to our debt within 3 years. Please explain Obama's great plan to get us all back to work. Do you know of one. Explain middle out economics to me and how it works.
I wonder how it could be close as well.
Speaking of lying, how about the slaughter of 4 Americans at our embassy in Libya? Obama told lies about that. Obama said last night on the debate there would be no sequestration. This was immediately spun by his democrat cronies that it did not mean there would be no sequestration. Obama said he would bring the American troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan when he became president. They are still there. And now that Obama has announced when they will be going home, the police that our American Warriors are training are killing them. Now go look yourself in the mirror.....
How about the 30,000 Syrians that have been killed?
rMoney is better suited for used car salesman job because of his forked tongue...
I think a used car salesman is above his pay grade.
Strangely, there was no mention of border security, nor the price of gas.Hmmmm?
They both lost.
And so do we, since regardless of who wins, the wars will continue and the crooks will keep running the Treasury dept and Wall Street banks.
Good one, Steve.
To all the posters who provided logical responses however missed the global message.
The market is voting today as it now senses the impending collapse of US finances
With a weaker Romney performance and the likelihood of a repeat of the past 4 years
With Michelle Obama as first lady
May be you could have said with a straight face " I can not take 4 more years of BLACK guy in WHITE HOUSE"
you neocon teaparty retard.
Sue, why does race always have to play a part in someone not agreeing with our president? Since you are probably a liberal, you should understand that "retard" is very politically incorrect.
This economic debacle, DEPRESSION, was created by the Bush administration. Those who think that Obama could have solved this in 4 years without ANY REPUBLICAN SUPPORT IN CONGRESS are absolutely out of their minds.
On the day of the Obama Inauguration the Republican powers-that-be and are decided they would thwart -- to the demise of the American people -- any policies that the President put forth to help solve the problems CREATED by the Bush administration.
Wake up, America! The Republicans don't care about the middle class. After all, they are funded by the oil companies, the very rich, even those who are billionaire casino owners -- all of whom have their own agendas. Those agendas do NOT represent the vast majority of Americans.
The Republicans have nothing to offer. Except two white men. They're hoping that's enough to convince other white men to at least pretend to believe the lies.
You did not answer my question. The dems have nothing to offer except more pain for the Americans. Again, you are using race.
Sue,
Obama had a democratic congress for two years.
Sue, when Obama became President, he had a majority of democrats in both the House and the Senate. He had two years in which he could have passed anything he wanted. Go study up on it. You are misinformed about the Republicans being so strong at that time that Obama couldn't accomplish anything. He spent two years getting Obamacare into law. Not one Republican voted for it. Explain that one. Obama's agenda to pass Obamacare did not represent the vast majority of Americans. This is not a socialist country. It is a Republic.
The voting results on this site for the debate series is an indication of why so much money can be made and lost in the so-called efficient market. To believe that the Republicans have hugely outscored the Democrats is so far removed from reality that it is no wonder the valuations are totally distorted through faulty perception, allowing traders to exploit a huge pool of stupidity. Voting follows the same path as behavioural economics. Emotion/irrationality inevitably wins over logic.
And you believe Obama is logical? He just lied to the American people about the 4 deaths in Libya, and you don't see a problem with that? Are you aware a drone flew over the American Embassy filming all that happened? You think Obama will follow through telling the American people he would tell us everything that happened as soon as he found out? Do you think that we will see any part of the film? Can you imagine watching Americans who have asked for help being slaughtered, and reportedly the Ambassador's body being dragged through the street?
No help was sent, and our president is involved in a cover up. You consider this to be logical? I could go on, but I know you wouldn't be enlightened.
What kind of retard would decide their vote after listening to these two robots spew lie after lie, telling the viewer whatever they want to hear, as long as it'll get them elected?
It's insanity.
Then explain to everyone how you plan to make your decision. Enlighten everyone!
The economy is the biggest issue we face in the next four years. I believe the last debate was geared more toward foreign policy to throw Romney off.....but he rightly brought back the main issue that the economy is our real strength. Sorry Obama fans, but when it comes to who I would hire to get us back on track with the economy my trust is higher with Romney!
We know what Obama has done in office — averting a depression, saving the auto industry, passing health-care reform, ending the war in Iraq, killing Osama bin Laden.
We know Romney envisions a future in which the U.S. economy returns to full employment, but we have no real idea how all the tax-cutting he proposes is supposed to get us there. We know he promises 12 million new jobs — but we also know that many economists believe the U.S. economy could add that many jobs in the next four years with no policy changes, assuming the recovery gains a little steam. This has nothing to do with Romney.
Yes, we know what Obama has done in office - play a lot of golf while his wife and children vacation at the tax payers' expense. As Mr. Donald Trump said, if nothing had been done, we would be in better shape than we are now. We are still in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, the police our soldiers train are turning on our troops and killing them. He has called the Ft Hood incident a "work place accident." The health care reform (socialism) will steal money from Medicare. He can spout all he wants about killing Osama bin Laden, but the way I have heard about it, he had very little to do with except showing up to view it still dressed in his golf shirt (white and green) under his sports jacket. He didn't even bother to attend the security briefing. Yet, he did it. Right. We are right now facing a fiscal cliff. Obama will not reach across the aisle. It's his way or the highway. The middle east is in shambles, 30,000 killed in Syria. Do you pay attention at all to what is really going on?
23,000,000 Americans are out of work. According to the latest earning reports, most of the future revenue forecasts are being reduced. Obama has ruined our energy self-sufficiency. He has paid out millions to green energy, which has been a complete failure. Gas is now about $4.00, higher in CA.
So, what are you seeing?
Repuglicans left behind a mess of historic proportions, though none of you seem to have a memory that goes back beyond Jan. 2009.We’re DIGGING OUT of the worst economic free fall since the Great Depression!
The democrats had control of the house and senate at the time of this Great Depression of which you speak. Have you so quickly forgotten? Have you forgotten that all stood in unity to go to war? I remember them all standing together on the steps in favor of what President Bush decided. The dems could have voted against it; they had the majority. So, no it wasn't just the Republicans. The Republicans voted against the bailout and tarp. So spin me another tale.
By the way, take a guess who began the slogan, "A house for everyone!" Would that be Bill Clinton? I think so. How did that work out for us?
It isn't the economy. It's remembering the catastrophe the Bush criminal enterprise was for the country, not only as concerns the economy, and knowing that rMoney is a Republican who wants to put us through another round of the same disastrous, failed policies.
It is the economy. So you want four more years of Obama's failed policies instead. Doesn't sound reasonable., Sue.
Have you heard about the fiscal cliff we are approaching? Is that what you want? Oh yeah, that's the republican's fault. Obama has nothing at all to do with it. Sure.
Repuglicans left behind a mess of historic proportions, though none of you seem to have a memory that goes back beyond Jan. 2009.We're DIGGING OUT of the worst economic free fall since the Great Depression!
4 years ago:
- we had MONTHS of negative GDPs, as low as -9%
- we lost up to 700,000 jobs PER MONTHS for 6+ months of GWB's last year and another 3+million jobs lost the first 6months of Obama's term -- for a TOTAL OF ~9 MILLION JOBS LOST
- we had a auto industry that was near extinction and millions of jobs on the line
- we had a housing market in the tank
- we had a DOW 13,000 -- THAT' IS RECOVERY.
We're digging out!
We CAN NOT go back to the SAME POLICIES that nearly tanked us four years ago.
Sue, Ronald Reagen cleaned up the mess Jimmy Carter left in three years. I guess you want to go "forward" to more job losses, huge debt and loss of freedoms. GLTA.
So Sue, you'd rather go forward to a bankrupt America with no energy policy, no military, and socialism.
Sue: I gladly agree that the Republicans must shoulder plenty of responsibility for the mess we are in. In fact, I have to agree that there is not much difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. I just believe the Democrats are selling out our country faster than the Republicans. Sadder yet, we the people, are the ones that have empowered all of them to do it. Because we are more interested in our entertainment than our freedom and the system that is supposed to keep us free. We have allowed progressive, liberal politicians of both parties in association with liberal judges to effectively gut our constitution to the point that our republic can scarcely be recognized as compared to what our founding fathers envisioned. Freedom entails a lot of personal responsibility - something many in our society seem not to have any more. It has become more "what can government give me" rather than "what can I do to earn the things that I need for me and mine". Then you mix in all the special interest groups, a press that is totally in the bag for the progressive agenda, a society largely without a moral base and yes we have a total mess. I wish there were a simple answer for it all, but there is not. Sadly, I do not see how our government will not morph into some form of dictatorship if we cannot draw back from this abyss. I know you will disagree with me, but our only hope is to get enough true conservatives into office to begin to reverse a trend that actually started about 100 years ago. Do we have the stomach for it? Time will tell. The Brits were headed this way just before the turn of the 20th century, but managed to pull back for awhile - of course they are pretty much down the tubes now. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I'm just afraid we are going the way of all republics and empires that have existed before us. I'm just astonished at the speed with which it seems to be happening.
Hi Ted, very well thought out response. Yes, the speed has been amazing. I truly believe there are not that many people even paying attention, except the ones who have lost their house and job. Very sad for our country.
Very well said and very sad to say, true as well. What has happened to honor and patriotism and following the Constitution? No one seems to give a rip about the Constitution, -- folks it outlines what the government is allowed to be involved in and not to be part of. Our federal government is WAY out of hand, controlling most aspects of business and our lives, and this has been going on/getting worse for well over 100 years. Please read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and then hold your representatives accountable for following the Constitution, we, the people, have been very negligent in our responsibilities in that aspect.
I wonder about those for Romney. Which Romney are they most pleased with; the right wing conservative, the moderate conservative, the moderate liberal, or the far left liberal. The guy has no integrity, he changes his stand based on the what he thinks will sell the audience. In last night's debate I was waiting for him to endorse Obama, since he had so much praise for Obama's foreign policy and conveyed much agreement. That is not the Romney I heard him express on the stump. Right or wrong I expect someone with character and the integrity to defend his position. Ever since Romney won the republican nomination he has been running from the positions and policies he voiced to win that nomination. He is a snake oil salesman, or better yet, a true religous missionary trying to convince the world that all their problems will be miraculously solved if only they buy his product, or put trust in his story
I wonder about those for Obama. Which Obama are they most pleased with, the one who spends his time telling people he will bring hope and change, the one who apologizes for our great nation, the one who wouldn't wear the American flag because it might offend someone, the one who takes total credit for capturing Osama, the one who bows to the Saudi, the one who ignores Israel and then spins his tale of how he supports them, the one who says he is so concerned about the middle class but supports the too big to fail Wall Street banks? Gee, wouldn't it have been nice to keep his promise to the people about hope and change by sending the tax payers the money he dumped on Wall Street? Drink some coffee and wake up!
Oh where to start, international relations was so destroyed by the former republican administration that a new start was necessary to recover any level of respect for the U.S. to begin to obtain the cooperation of world leaders. Obama took very little credit for the success of getting Osama, he gave credit where it rightly belongs, the intelligence community and the special forces that completed the mission. As with most republicans you love to make your own facts. As I recall the support for the banks and the initiation of TARP was created by the republican administration when they allowed the banks to tank the economy. As for any of the plans he had leading up to his inauguration they were pretty much tanked when he found the mess that was left.
What is the republican canidate's plan, double down on tax relief for the rich,, increase military spending for things that are not needed, and screw everyone else.
Are you so oblivious to world affairs that you think the United States is respected more now than 4 years ago. Do you know about the dollar being the reserve currency for trading, especially oil. Did you know that Russia, China, and Iran are making oil trades in their own currency or gold?
Every time he opens his mouth, he says he got Osama. That's a fact.
You are recalling incorrectly about TARP and the bailout. The Republicans from the house and congress voted against it. Do you not remember Eric Cantor and Paul Ryan as two of them? Do you not recall that the dems had the majority in the house and the senate? So you are saying that Obama as a senator was totally ignorant as to how bad the situation was? It is a good excuse and most probably true, but then shouldn't an individual running for president have more knowledge than "I didn't realize how bad it was." Do you not recall Bill Clinton wanted a house for everyone, whether they could afford it or not. So people who couldn't afford one house were approved to buy two or three homes, thinking the housing boom would go forever.....but it didn't.
So okay, Obama's first plan was to build the middle class from the bottom up....huh? You ever been hired by a poor person? Then he decided to build from the middle out.......huh. It doesn't work that way. If he were sincere about the middle class, the money taken from the tax payers and given to the big banks while he was president with a democratic house and senate would have sent checks directly to the people - not the "too big to fail banks." Think seriously about how the economy works. Are you middle class and how many people are you going to hire, you know to build from the middle out......LOL
Sorry to burst your bubble on the US reputation in the world but, unfortunately, speaking as a foreigner your assessment of Obama's effect upon it is exactly opposite to the reality.
If the rest of the world were allowed to vote in the coming election then it would be a record victory for Obama.
The Bush years severly damaged the US standing in the world. There was a huge surge in empathy following 9/11, which was largely squandered by the ill fated recourse to militarism and the opportunistic invasion of Iraq.
Obama's reception abroad was reminicient of that of Mikhail Gorbachov's as the world breathed a collective sigh of relief, since it appeared that the red mist clouding US judgement had finally dissipated and that his election signalled a change in US foriegn policy from military to diplomatic solutions; from repudiating international agreements and treaties to promoting them.
Any subsequent disenchantment with Obama is due to his failure to deliver on these more peaceable aspects of his election promises, not the lack of belligerancy towards foriegners.
e.g. the failure to close Qitmo, the drone strikes, the sabre ratling and threat of pre-emptive strikes and possible invasion against yet another middle eastern country.
The world is not looking for the US to lead it in a return to a cold war, 'for us or agin us' standoff with other nations. That is more an expression US domestic nostalgia.
Instead, we would much prefer it got along with others, put down the gun and resolve matters without recourse to militarism.
Israel aside, a Romney victory would cause consternation among the rest of the world as being a sign that the US is reverting to belligerancy and that the count down to another Iraq was under way.
For an insight into how the world does view the two candidates, see below links.

DT, do these sound more important than a strong military to keep us safe?
The Democrat Party seems intent on establishing as national policy every moral crime against God and Man from abortion to perpetual war for perpetual "peace and freedom."
The Republican Party shakes it's head and says that terrible---but save for some cheap cosmetic changes when it is power DOES NOT CHANGE DIRECTION.
These two parties are the left and right arm of the same body. Left and right arms of the same body do not oppose each other except for the amusement of children except for squabling over some scraps from the table.
Is there a joint governing body for these two groups? Maybe some conspiracy theories are not theories?
Wow ! There must be a lot of Republicans that are in the top 1 o/o voting on here .
Not in the top 1%, not even close, but definitely a Republican. I cannot support a party who voted to take God off their platform. Then when the word got out, they tried voting three times to bring God to their platform. I watched angry people when the vote for God was accepted.
Middle class is what Obama supposedly wants to help. He had two years with a democratic house and senate and did nothing to grow jobs.
But he did save the banks and ruined the people!!
aS A FORMEWR 94TH INFANTRY MAN IN EUROPE IUN WORLD WAR TO AM SAD THAT A PRESIDENT OF USA oBMA CANNOT PROTECT OUR AMAMBASSADORS AND THIS STORY ALONE IN MY THINKING PLUS THE DEBT AND HIS 23 MILLION OUT OF WORK LET GO FOR rOMNEY AND IM AN INDEPENDENT CUT THE SPENDING bILL g
We are face with critial choices in the coming election. One candidate seems to want to appeal to everyone who wants something out of the government and giving it to them with your money. The other is a businessman who has been successful in every venture he gets into. His enemies have focused a lot of criticism on his years at Bain Capital where he bought up failing companies and either euthanized them or made them into something competive. So some people lost jobs as a result? Unlike the Federal Government, a Corporation can't continue to loose money and survive. Many of those that he made profitable by" triming the fat" are successful today. I want to hire Romeny to do a Bain Capital thing on the horrible waste and bureaucracy that Washington has become.
Obama, on the other hand does not seem to understand how capitalism works, nor does he try to. Instead of slapping regulations and taxes on small to medium corporations while giving the seven largest banks a blank check to consolidate their power, he ought to be doing the opposite. He ought to jail the bankers who caused the '08 crash the way Clinton jailed 300 of the S & L scandal guys of '90. The banks too big to fail are where Glass-Stegal type regulation is needed not small to medium business. Does anyone out there care? This is our country and our future!
Once again the candidates fought, off topic, on the battlefield of the middle class carcasses. How dare these men pretend to act in the interest of the very people devastated by the effects of outsourcing, foreign call service centers and unfair overseas manufacturing?
Also, natural gas, most likely the biggest deficit reducing game changer in this decade and for 100 years to come, was barely mentioned. Nor did Bob ask about the federally withheld Department of Energy Report on LNG exports.
What a joke.

Excellent, Excellent Article!!!! Everyone should click on this link whether you are liberal or conservative, think about what it is saying and then compare it to what you see everyday in the media.
It is a decent article... till it brought in Ron Paul...
Ron Paul is the man. If he was ever allowed to debate Romney and Obama one on one he would crush them both.
While Romney gets my vote, he was outclassed in Debate III by Obama's Commander-In-Chief experience concerning strategic deployment of resources. Drones permit such strategic deployment as Romney will be advised.
That Benghazi was not exposed for critique by Romney was disappointing. Why did Obama represent the Mohammed Movie as the cause for the attack while concealing that "terrorism" was responsible. Romney did however allude to the "creeping Sharia” that disturbingly captivates Obama's silence.
Bush no doubt was a war monger. But I have to give the nod to Mr. Mitt Romney. I'm not a US citizen and have no particular persuasion except that I follow the race closely. That debate reminded me of the young student versus the seasoned professional especially when Romney said directly to Obama,"But you have not balanced a budget yet." Of course Obama had no reply and given the legacy he inherited you have to give some leeway. But as a person who has always been self employed that spoke volumes for me. I have been in deficit positions. However to go from deficit to balancing a budget you need a plan to balance a budget. You learn to make meaningful cuts to achieve stability and growth. My understanding is that there has been no budget in existence for some time under this administration. And I have seen no policies coming out of this present administration speaking to this issue except rhetoric. And I agree Bush didn't impress me either. So then you have to look at each candidate and their record not what previous party candidates have done.
Very well said.
I will vote for Romney. However neither candidate has given clearly what the plan is to do what needs doing. Could it bee that they don't know clearly? In that case I give Romney/Ryan the edge because of Romney's experience in the private sector and his honest and sincere demeaner. Obama surely had big dreams but is leaving a big mess.
In politics, it is not about right or wrong, good or bad....the opposition simply has to oppose or give a little different view or opinion and say it is better than the view of the ruling party....obama because of his real life background understands the need of the common people. he is one of the modest and humblest president i have ever seen. as a non u.s. national, i will put mitt romney in the category of george bush and john edwards and dick cheney in their intelligence level...who speak through their a**..... i feel embarrassed to listen to their useless speech....Go Obama...Go
What planet are you from? Obama is the most arrogant, narcisstic individual ever to lead this country. Even one of his staffers let it out that he cares not a whit for others. When you look at all the golf he has played and vacations he and the queen have taken, all at public expense, and then you heve the unmittigated gall to say he cares about the middle class? Get a clue friend! Four more years of this guy and there will be no middle class left!
Hi Ted, right on! OB was actually playing golf the day our American warriors went after Osama. He totally skipped the briefing and came into the room to watch the assault with his golf shirt under a sports jacket. Yeah, right, this guy cares about America.
The reality of the last four years was unchanged by Obama's performance.
Like most people who live outside the US, or who are not US citizens, I favour Obama mainly because the world cannot swallow more Bush-era-type years without completely losing the respect Obama has managed to salvage for the US during his 4 year term. While Obama's first debate was below expectation, he vindicated himself nicely in the latter two. I, and most of my colleagues and family, are hopeful for his re-election.
I would guess, Tabji, that you would favor Obama. He is weak on the economics and foreign affairs of the United States. He cares nothing for the people of this great nation. He is ashamed of our flag, and his wife stated only 4 years ago, that it was the first time she was proud of our country. The Ft Hood incident has been "named" a work place accident taking all the benefits away from our brave warriors who were killed by a home grown terrorist. The O man let 4 Americans be killed in Libya. Everything was being watched via a drone flying over the American Embassy. Then he lied to the American people about it being a spontaneous reaction instead of a terrorist attack. He has no respect for our military. Has this prima donna kept Americans' safe? The answer is a resounding, "no." He is a sarcastic, condescending, arrogant, narcisstic whimp with either no leadership skills or a planned shake down of America.
Romney, who is a business man and loves America, is knowledgable and will be a great leader to bring this country back from the abyss where the O man has brought us. If the O man is re-elected, it will be the demise of this great country. He has signed into law over 900 executive orders. Many of these will take away our rights provided by our constitution. He has ruined our health care and stolen money from Medicare. He apologizes for America. Does anyone remember the leader of a country apologizing for it?
I saw a picture of Ronald Reagen kissing our flag, while O man says he doesn't want to wear the flag as it may be offensive to some people. You will notice he is now wearing it as he is running for re-election.
The media lets O man get away with murder while attacking everything that is good for this country. Just look at the recent battles Americans have had to fight - the attempt to take God out of the pledge allegiance, the attempt to take In God we Trust off of our currency, attacking the Boy Scouts because of their inclusion of God in their association. These are just the beginning. The democratic party voted God off their platform, and then when this was announced, they didn't want to face the ire of the American public, and it took three votes to place God back on their platform. I am a Christian. There is no way I can vote for any democrat. They do not consider God to be an awesome God, they believe in killing babies, and their social platform is devoid of morals. I see liars, thugs, gangsters, and total greed in their party. If the O man were so concerned about the "middle class," why didn't he make the checks out to the tax payers instead of the too big to fail Wall Street banks? What a novel idea, give the tax payers back their money so they can grow the economy. Instead the banks have the money and the regulations are such that they do not loan it out. How's that working for America?
I guess you know I will be voting for an all Republican ticket.
We defeated the user with a string military. A $500 billion military budget cut severely weakens our military and our stature in the world.
I would think the followers of "INO" would be inclined to vote for a pro-business, conservative candidate. Many of my tribe, from an undisclosed country, are quite loose with their money. Probably genetically brought up to be more freer with their lives. They make exciting gamblers with an amazing attitude toward winning and losing. You might not find them on Wall St. for they abhor the masses of conventional scrimmage. They can be found in the 5 star London Casinos. Let the humble inherit the earth.
They can be found in 5 star London casinos because USAmericans have been dumb enough to enrich them through addiction to middle-east oil instead of using USAmerican ingenuity to develop and adopt viable alternatives. The crumbling economy of the USA is humbling indeed.
