Guess what? Grandma was right!

On February 11th, I posted a blog titled, How To Successfully Play The Earnings Game And Win 95% Of The Time.

This blog posting generated a tremendous amount of feedback from our members, so much so that I decided to once again play the earnings game and pick out 5 stocks that were going to release their earnings either after the close or before the markets opened the next trading day.

I rely on Yahoo’s earning calendar to find out what stocks are scheduled to release earnings and at what time they will release them, after the market close or before the market opens the next day.

5 Stocks On The Move Today

Hello traders and MarketClub members everywhere! Well I have to admit it, I did take a few days off to fly down to Cancun last week to get some sunshine and warm weather. If you're based anywhere on the East Coast, you know it has been very, very cold, the coldest weather we have had in 170 years! So I thought it was time to sneak off and get some warm weather for a few days.

When I come back from a trip, I immediately look at the Trade Triangles to see what is happening in the marketplace and what stocks are on the move. Today was no different, I simply clicked on the Trade Triangle button and I searched for stocks that were in uptrends, but had a continuation signal today. In simpler terms, I was looking for stocks that were in uptrends that had given a weekly Trade Triangle signal today indicating that the upward trend was once again resuming.

I filter the list down to stocks that have good volume and have traded on average over 2 million shares a day. When you look for stocks that have that type of trading volume, you know that the big boys, the hedge funds and institutional investors, are also looking at those same stocks as well, so you're in good company. Under Armour, Greece And The End Of An Era

Let's start off with Under Armour Inc. (NYSE:UA). This company, located in Baltimore, is making some serious moves into the social media heath-fitness app market. Kevin Plank, who is the founder and chairman, just paid $560 million, an astronomical amount of money or so it would seem for two fitness apps.

MyFitnessPal has more than 80 million registered users and UA has called it "the leading free resource" for providing calorie-and-workout-related data. UA is paying $475 million to acquire the service.

UA will pay $85 million for Endomondo, a fitness tracking platform that lets users map, record and share workouts through social networks. It has 20 million registered users in Europe. Continue reading "Under Armour, Greece And The End Of An Era" →
