Free Video Seminar - "Applying Technical Methods to Today's Trading"

Excerpt from John Murphy's seminar, “Applying Technical Methods To Today's Trading,” offered for on INO TV Free...

For those of you that trade the futures markets, there are a lot of other things outside the future markets that you should be following. But, I guess my bigger message is... for those of you that aren't in the futures markets, whether you trade them or not, the futures markets have a tremendous impact on what happens in the other markets.

I keep pointing out to the Wall Street crowd for example, that if you're going to trade stocks, you have to know what's happening in the futures markets, because they affect inflation, they affect interest rates, they affect stock groups, and they play a tremendously important part in the whole financial spectrum.”

---

In this seminar, Murphy shares his non-traditional methods for selecting markets to trade based around commodity trends and leading indicators. His intermarket analysis is put in action to show just how commodities can put a drag or a rocket under a stock.

Murphy is a former CNBC analyst, the principal of JJM Technical Advisors, and author of Technical Analysis of the Futures Markets (1986), Intermarket Analysis (1991), and The Visual Investor (1996).

  1. Adam,

Thank you and your team for your repeated replies. It seems that your current server configuration block anyone from watching the full video whose actual download speed is less than 3MBit/s. Two reasons: [1] Your server (Apache/2.2.0, Linux/SUSE) interrupts the download after 8 minutes (server setting), [2] your server does not allow continuation of an interrupted download (server setting).

All of my internet providers limit download of FLV files to a maximum speed of 1MBit/s, I am not able to get more than 50MB, less than 1/3 of the total video. I also tested this with Jack Schwager's video. Same result. All this even though my download speed is 3 times faster than necessary for watching the video in real time.

Previously, I was able to watch the Schwager video without problems. The FLV limit seems to be a recent limitation of our networks here in Thailand (other files can be downloaded with much higher speed).

Furthermore, I estimate that you are actually locking out roughly half of your users outside areas with premium and unlimited internet access.

Could you and your technical team reconsider your server settings? Just allowing continuation of interrupted downloads would solve the issue immediately (with potential to save considerable bandwidth on your side as well). Increasing the download timeout to 40 minutes would also do the trick.

Whatever your decision, thank you for your excellent services in all other areas and I look forward to your continuous stream of high quality information.

    Happy Holidays,
    Hart

    1. Hart,

Thank you for your valuable feedback.

I have forwarded your comments to our tech department.

  3. Could you, or anyone else actually watch the last 15 minutes, or, let's say content after 1:00 hour?

After loading the first 30 minutes (of video, takes about 10 minutes here), my browser (actually its flash player) pretends that the whole video is loaded. However, anything later than 30 minutes into the video is not accessible.

  4. Thanks for your suggestions.
I took me awhile, but I managed to see it entirely. I waited to download the whole video before watching it, I didn't want to "blow it" just in the middle!

  5. What do you use for a connection? I A M wired up to a barbed wire fence, 100 yards from my barn and it works great? I have a ball of twine, some buttons, you must supply the paper cups, should i mail them to you? "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" ELVIS

  6. It might be the connection speed. My downloader manages a constant 100 KByte/second. Full download would take about 30 minutes. After 6 minutes, the connection get's interrupted and download starts again. Tried several providers (3G, apartment WiFi, commercial public Wifi hotspots). Always the same timeout.

  7. Thanks for the quick reply, Adam,

It's not my computer. I am downloading and playitn many training videos in FLV, MPEG4, AVI and other formats, some files larger than 1GByte.

Could never watch more than 30% John Murphy's video. Tried browser & downloader several times. After 55 MB are downloaded, the transfer is interrupted. My downloader displays also that the INO server is not able to resume a broken download. Keeps forever downloading the same 55 MB again and again.

Perhaps the file is broken? Has anyone managed to watch the full video?

    Best regards,
    Hart

    1. Hart,

I’ve checked the John Murphy video and it does play all the way through. However it does take about 25 seconds to load. Please make sure that your Flash Player is up to date. This may also be due to your internet connection speed, if it’s slow it may not load the video.

      All the best,

      Adam

  9. so what's the problem with dan gramza?
Adam is a smart dude, he knows whats up and is very careful in his presentations you must watch not to read into things that are not there.

  10. With my slow 1 MBit/s connection, I can never watch more than 25 minutes of the video. Seems like the server times out. Tried several times, each time deleted browser cache.

    Could you please check.

    1. Hart,

It could also be your computer. If you have an old computer with limited memory you will have problems watching longer videos.

      All the best.
      Adam

    1. Hi Sam,

You are right that it begins auto-playing Dan Gramza's video, however you can select any video at that point to play. Simply click on the 4th video to see John Murphy's video.
