Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, co-founder of MarketClub with MarketClub TV for Wednesday, the 20th of February.
WHY COMMODITY MARKETS ARE SO IMPORTANT
The commodity markets are incredibly important as they really drive commerce and the economy. Think of the role that commodities play in our everyday lives, they affect the cost of what we eat, what we buy and how we drive to and from work. In today's show, we will be looking at the major trends in all of the major commodity markets.
THE WORLD CUP PORTFOLIO
Five years ago, we began the World Cup portfolio using core commodity markets. Five of the six components that make up the World Cup portfolio are pure commodity plays-wheat, corn, soybeans, gold and crude oil. The sixth element is the Dollar Index. Here are the theoretical returns for the World Cup portfolio starting in 2008:
*2008: +501.6%
*2009: +48.5%
*2010: +35.3%
*2011: +186.7%
*2012: +57.6%
MarketClub provides members everyday with the signals needed to track and trade the World Cup portfolio.
GOLD SINKS BELOW $1,600
The trend continues for gold as it sinks below $1,600 for the first time in over 6 months, as more and more investors become disenchanted and throw in the towel. Is this the right time to start buying gold? In today's show, we will look at the big picture in this market and how best to play gold in the future.
THE NUMBER ONE COMMODITY IN THE WORLD
Crude oil is a major commodity that effects everything from the price of plastics, to how we get to work, to how we ship produce cross-country. America runs on number two diesel fuel, that's how important this one commodity is. Crude oil is used everywhere, making this commodity perhaps the number one commodity in the world.
Have a great trading day, see you tomorrow.

Can you trade futures on your own computer over the internet or must you call a broker? If so, what is best online broker for trading futures?
One more question if I may, since you can't short in an IRA account, could one trade etfs and inverse etfs to accomplish comparable results to trading futures within the World Cup portfolio structure?
Thank you in advance for reply.

Do these commodity etfs trade with sufficient liquidity to be able to get in and out without too much difficulty? If they are liquid enough, please identify the etfs that correspond to the WC portfolio. Thanks again!
Hey, i have a doubt from a couple of Shows ago. In the world cup portfolio you use the daily/weekly, but when you look at the euro or in the pair of Soros made a billion, you always took an special note in Monthly triangles, Forex should'nt be trade as the same principles of commodities (Like US Dollar Index, you use Daily/Weekly)

you ave a very interesting service. I am studying your system for future membership. keep up the good work improving day by day
what service are you using now? also, what services have you used in the past? thank you
commidities would be great if left alone, but onterpeniors keep bidding up the price and it seems its not based on shortage or glut. There seems to be a certain element in the would that runs the price to where they want it and the rest suffer, or go with out. I 've seen it in copper , oil the wheats, its sad when a group can run the price of a commidity up and down, with out a shortage in that particular commidity. The 6percent run this country, money talks and we walk....and pay.........
