This morning Steve Ballmer announced his retirement as CEO of Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) within 12 months. Mr. Ballmer owns about 4% of Microsoft and has been with the company for the past 33 years, but for the past 10 years, has missed many of the latest moves in technology.
As always, we appreciate your thoughts and comments on our blog. Please let us know what you think of today's shift in the world of technology.

I have bought and intent to keep MSFT stock because I and hundreds of millions of others rely on Microsoft for our information and communication needs 8-10 hours a day.
Windows eight is a colossal joke and is emblematic of just how out of touch Microsoft is from people who use their products. I bought a laptop with Windows 8 installed it is a poor attempt to imitate Mac OS. If I had wanted a Mac I would have! Come to think of it next time I buy hardware I probably buy a Mac product.
Microsoft and Apple have grown too big to any longer be considered growth stocks but they are both solid blue chips with solid ratios compared with most other blue chips.
