A Niche ETF In The Potentially Promising Future Of Immunotherapy Is On The Horizon

Noah Kiedrowski - INO.com Contributor - Biotech

Introduction

Immunotherapy has emerged as an exciting therapeutic area that has experienced massive growth over the past few years in terms of research and development expenditures and sheer number of clinical trials throughout the biotechnology sector. Immunotherapy ushers in a new class of potentially promising therapies by leveraging the immune system to recognize and eradicate debilitating diseases, specifically cancer and chronic viral infections. This immunotherapy approach may inevitably result in a paradigm shift from traditional medical intervention. Immunotherapy possesses holistic attributes by harnessing the body’s immune system to content with disease. In addition to the holistic aspects, immunotherapy has been shown to have a favorable side effect profile and best-in-class efficacy across many different disease states. These therapies may provide powerful technology to content with a host of diseases and in a future state may potentially serve as a preventative technology similar to a traditional vaccine. Immunotherapy has evolved into many different classifications with differing modalities over the past few years, which has given rise to a growing number small-cap biotechnology companies with potential investment opportunities via an immunotherapy ETF.

Immunotherapy – The terse science

Immunotherapies engage and recruit the immune system to combat disease by inducing an antibody generation response against a specific antigen (foreign entity) typically present on the cell surface of a virus or cancer cell. This is very similar to a traditional vaccine approach seen for a whole host of diseases throughout history. Dollar's Fate To Be Decided In Beijing?

Lior Alkalay - INO.com Contributor - Forex

Last week's GDP growth figures proved that US economic performance is still pretty mediocre, bordering on mildly tepid. While the Hawks were eyeing a 2.6% growth figure, actual GDP fell short of expectations and posted a rather dismal growth rate of 2.3% annualized.

Yesterday, we got the Fed's favorite inflation indicator, Core PCE, the inflation barometer that's extracted from the GDP release. And what we got was a dismal 1.3% inflation rate (YoY). This validated, once again, that the US economy failed to reach escape velocity that would necessitate several rate hikes a year. Rather, it suggested that anything beyond one or two rate hikes was unnecessary. Hardly a hawkish sign, yet Dollar demand keeps on rising while US yields move lower. It is this very combination that suggests that Dollar demand is being stirred by the demand of US Treasuries. Some say that this is investors moving into safety amid the rout in Chinese markets. Well, that's probably true, at least, in part. But the rest? There's a big bet on what China will do next. Continue reading "Dollar's Fate To Be Decided In Beijing?"

Learn The Basics In Binary Options

Vinz de la Fuente - INO.com Contributor - Binary Options

Binary options are a modern way of trading fast and dealing easily in the world of finance. This idea was born and made legal in 2008 in the United States.

The essence in this type of trading is the non-ownership of any asset. There is instead, an attempt to somehow foresee the course of the underlying asset. One chooses an asset and gives a prediction of its movement. It is an investment in the present.

How do binaries operate?

In not so many words, binary options give you two choices - the choice to be right or the choice to be wrong. Either one wins, or one loses. There is no gray area.

It is not as scary as it sounds. Binary options, as a concept, is simple and concise. You choose an asset after which you foresee whether or not the price of the said asset will go up or go down in price.

Once you have made a decision, the broker you have made a deal with will show you the percentage of the amount. This will be returned to you before you have signed on your money to the trade.

You will then choose the amount that you want to invest. You will also choose the period within which you are willing to work. After taking all of these factors into consideration, you may then click on the button that finalizes the trade. Execution will take place. Continue reading "Learn The Basics In Binary Options"

Renewable Cash Flow

Adam Feik - INO.com Contributor - Energies

Having spent the lion's share of the last two weeks in Las Vegas and Denver, I've seen my share of solar panels lately. In fact, the express purpose of my Denver trip was to visit and tour a solar plant owned by Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company, a non-traded publicly-registered "YieldCo" investment available to qualified investors through advisors.

Want proof? Here's a dashing photo of me at Greenbacker's Denver International Airport Solar Farm, taken just this Wednesday:

Greenbacker Denver International Airport Solar Farm

The tour was very interesting, as was our group's educational seminar about Greenbacker (I was an attendee). Greenbacker currently owns 82 already-producing solar facilities in 7 states plus Ontario, Canada. Since the firm's goal is to provide its investors with steady, increasing cash distributions, Greenbacker has locked in contracts with an average of 16 years remaining to sell power to its "offtakers," including credit-worthy utilities, government entities, and corporations. Most contracts include some modest annual increase to account for inflation. Continue reading "Renewable Cash Flow"
